More detailed instructions coming soon...

I just wanted to let everyone know that I am working on a short training document on how to use and contribute to this blog. This will explain the pros and cons of each of the ways to post to the blog, and show you how to access it's features. For the time being, please refer to Heather's email of 11 September, or see last Monday's post for information on getting started. -Tim

P.S. re size of Minnesota Chapter

The Minnesota Chapter of AIGA is nearly 1,300 strong, rather than the 900 mentioned in an earlier post on this blog.

Hello from AIGA Minnesota Education Director

Thank you, Tim Armato, faculty member of Art Institutes International Minnesota, for creating the AIGA Minnesota Faculty Blog. We appreciate your time and effort, especially in light of the impending birth of your first child! I encourage all design educators to begin a dialog on this blog, and share best practices. If you would like the AIGA Minnesota Education Director to visit your campus student group, send word to education@minnesota.aiga.org and we'll get it set up. May the new school year start out magnificently for you!

You can post from any email account

Faculty, educators, and other users of the blog can submit posts simply by sending an email. Contact the moderator for the email address. The entry you are reading was posted in this way. Once you send the email, it will be saved as a draft, and must be approved by the moderator before it will show up on the blog. This method works from any email address. If, however, you have a gmail account, you can log-in to the blog as an author. This will give you more control over how your post appears, what labels are applied to it, and allow you to publish it immediately without waiting for approval. Again, contact the moderator for instructions.
